Discipling a believer

Earnest Prayer

Acts 12:1-17 tells the story of Peter’s miraculous deliverance by God from his imprisonment by Herod. Herod’s intent was a public trial and, most likely, execution. Peter’s crime was that he was an outspoken follower of Jesus.

FILL THE NEED

“Find a need and fill it.” The origin of the quote is disputed. I first heard it as an undergraduate studying business administration. It was touted as a formula for financial success. But it has other applications, especially as it relates to the Church.

This is what we strive to do at Frontlines International. Find the need and fill it. The Church in places of oppression, hostility, and persecution need support and encouragement. Sometimes the need is material aid for Christians who have been displaced from their communities. Sometimes the need is training for disciples who are growing in their faith. Sometimes the need is for God’s Word, the Bible, that they might hear clearly from God. These fellow Christians are tasked with sharing the Gospel and expanding the Kingdom in the most difficult places. They share with us their need.

The Church in the free world has need as well. We need to understand how we can direct our abundance of resource to strengthen the worldwide Church, especially our prayers.

Christmas is grounded in God filling our deep need for a Savior. Our need was clear. Only Jesus could fill it. He calls us to go and do likewise. Where the need is clear and the resource available, fill the need.

Frontlines International is a ministry that stands alongside those who live dangerously as they serve to bring the light of Jesus Christ to their communities.
